TANFORAN TURF NOTES Of the 30,000 people gathered at Tanforan opening day, it was estimated that 10,000 were women. Seemingly all the far West was interested in the revival, of racing at Tanforan as delegations from Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Portland, Spokane, Butte and Reno were present at Tanforan for the inaugural days sport. Trainer Johnny Loftus has the distinction of having captured the first two stake races run at Tanforan, with All Over, the Inaugural Handicap and Cano the Debutante Stakes.
