SUBSCRIPTION PURCHASERS i Drawing Held for the Thirty-one Imported Junipers. Horses Bought in England, Ireland and France to Encourage - and Foster Sport of Steeplecliaslng. r NEW YORK, N. Y., Nov. 15. The International Steeplechase Subscription horses were distributed yesterday afternoon at the J. E. Widener cottage at Belmont Park. The entire quota of thirty-one imported jumpers were distributed by lot. Most of the subscribers were present and those that were not had representatives there for the drawing. The drawing was conducted under the direct supervision of the subscription committee. The committee is composed of Joseph E. Davis, Paul D. Cra-vath, Mrs. Payne Whitney, Joseph E. Widened and Richard H. Williams. The importation of these foreign jumpers is being undertaken in an effort to encourage the sport of steeplechasing in America so that it may enjoy the popularity which it dees abroad. The horses were bought in Ireland, England and France. The purchases were made by E. J. Tranter of the Fasig-Tipton Company.
