BENA set the pace from the start and was tinder slight restraint in the early running, but finished in the deepest going and tired in the final sixteenth. NORTH BREEZE, close up frcm the start, finished gamely and was wearing the winner down at the end. POEDIE was always prominent and was going well at the finish. MUMBO JUMBO raced into the lead on the backstretch and, under hard riding, maintained his advantage to the end. T. J. PENDERGAST saved ground on all the turns and finished gamely. LEGAL TENDER came fast next to the rail in the final quarter. WAAC was hard ridden throughout. FEODOR, away forwardly and prominent for a half mile, quit in the final eighth. Scratched 75501 Sid C. IRA WILSON. In close pursuit of the leader from the start, was forced wide on all .the turns, but came fast through the stretch and raced into a clear lead in the last twenty yards. FINALITY set a good pace, but raced wide on the turns and began tiring in the final sixteenth. ASHLIN gradually improved his position and was going fast at the finish. FLORENCE DEEN had ui mishaps. MISS FILLEY was reserved behind the early leaders and, coming on the outside in the last half mile, raced into the lead, but was hard ridden at the end to withstand PRINCE WELLES. The latter raced close up from the start and finished resolutely. TRICKS began slowly, but gained rapidly and outfinished UTAH in the final drive. UTAH displayed early speed and raced into the lead, but quit in the stretch. WIDOW BEDOTTE set the early pace and saved ground on the turns, but quit badly. Scratched 75503 Stock Pin. 112. ZOUAVE showed the most speed and finished gamely when challenged, but was weakly ridden when it came to a drive. HICKOKY made up ground and finished gamely. EXPLOSIVE raced forwardly all the way. NEAPOLITAN and DALROSE were badly outrun for the last half mile. Overweights Zouave, 2 pounds.
