LE BALAFRE moved up steadily after rounding the far turn and, fighting it out closely with CHINCOTEAGUE throughout the last eighth, won drawing clear. The latter tired after setting the pace until well inside the final eighth post. SQUIRE WIGGINS ran well and outgamed CRUCES at the end. The latter finished well. FLUFF tired badly. The latter beat the others away from the barrier by a length and, after running out when entering the stretch, came again at the end. ARMEDEE raced well and outgamed WHIPPOORWILL in the final drive. The latter made up ground and finished fast on the outside. EVELYN" WHITE was made too much use of in setting the pace and tired in the last quarter. DERADOU ran well to the first turn, where he bolted to the outside fence and was pulled up. BRUCE DUDLEY showed speed, but tired iu the stretch.
