JOCKEY PARKES BIG LEAD Sensational Young Rider Continues His Wonderful Work in Saddle 6Donnell Second. Jockey Ivan Parke continues to bask in the limelight of popular favor and reigns supreme as the leading rider of winter racing. He is amassing a big lead that will stand him in good stead when Sande and other stars get into action in the spring. He has suffered no pronounced "slump," such as befalls the best of them at times, but goes along day after day winning on all sorts of horses and under all sorts of trying conditions. He apparently has the faculty possessed by the great Tod Sloan, Danny Maher and other notable riders of the past of being able to get every ounce out of his mounts. He is always alert and ever ready to take advantage of the mistakes of his rivals. In the opinion of many shrewd turfmen Parke is one of the greatest young riders the American turf has seen in many years. Since January 1 to and including Saturday, February 2, Parke has had 162 mounts and ridden 52 winners for the remarkably high percentage of .32. Out at Tijuana, where Parke first attracted attention, is a youngster who is making a name for himself. This apprentice is S. ODonnell, who has ridden thirty-seven winners since the first of the year, ten of them last week. He is second to Parke on the jockey list. J. Woods, with twenty to his credit, is third. The thirty leaders are: .Tockcy. Jits. 1st. 2d. 3d. Unp. I.C.L.W. Tarke, 1 182 52 30 24 GO .32 11 ODonnell.
