The latter, under alert riding, began well and, racing in improved form, might have woa but for being ridden wide into the stretch. HOLE CARD ran a grod race, but was tiring at the end. APOLOGY raced prominently all the way and made a game finish. TIGHT away slowly and ridden wide on the turns, finished gamely. TROUTWICK closed a gap. LADY MARIAN tired. The latter showed fine speed in pacemaking and stayed gamely in the final drive. COLORED BOY seemed to have had the race won when an eighth out, but tired in the last sixteenth.
