ELLA C. drew away into a long lead in the first eighth and won all the way, but had to be ridden out at the end to withstand the challenge of THE GIRL. The latter began slcwly . and was shuffled back, hut closed a big gap and finished fast. SAN DIEGO closed up much ground and finished with a rush. VIUGE was unruly at the post and tired after racing well in the stretch. WIN OR QUIT pulled up lame. WILTON FLANNA ran well. Scratched 77241 Kentmere, 112; 77263 Duke of Savoy, 112. Won easily; second and third driving. SOME PUNKINS raced past the leaders on the last turn and drew away into an easy lead, but : had to be shaken up in the stretch to withstand the rush of ALMIRANTE. The latter set the early pace and was tiring at the end. but lasted long enough to withstand the rush of SIMPLE SIMON. The latter closed a gap and finished fast next lo the inside rail. MISS BEULAH ran a good race and was gradually wearing the winner down at the finish. JOE UNDERWOOD was shuffled about in the early running and finished fast. MICHAEL J. DALY was taken up in the first quarter and finished with a rush in the middle of the track. GREEN BRIAR closed a big gap. FOUL WEATHER was a close up contender to the last eighth. RANDEL began slowly and was far hack for the first half mile, but raced around on the outside with a rush cn the far turn and. racing into the lead in the stretch, outstayed SPORTIBOY in the final drive. The latter was saved close up to the head of the stretch, but tired in the stretch drive. NORTH WALES ran well and saved ground on all he turns, but was cut off in the last seventy yardi. AVon driving; second and third the same. FINDAY moved up rapidly after rounding the far turn and raced ADVENTURESS into defeat, but tired near the end and just lasted long enough to withstand JOLLY. The latter finished fast on the inside after having saved ground when entering the stretch. SCISSORS was a forward contender all the way and made a game finish. ADVENTURESS set a fast pace to the last eighth and tired. TRUH AMERICAN began slowly. PERHAPS raced wide on all the turns. END MAN quit. Scratched 77173 Blue Hill, 103; 7701S Pelion, 109.
