MAY BAXTER took the load quickly and saved ground to the stretch turn, where she was taken to tho middle of the track and was doing her best all the way, although winning by a big margin. CAPTAIN KINNARNEY went to the front with a rush at once and drew away into a long lead after rounding the far turn, but was tiring badly at the end and had to lw ridden hard to withstand HEMLOCK. The latter was in close quarters next to the inside rail in the last sixteenth when tha winner swerved over against him. RUDDLES wore the tiring CLOPORTE down and passed him near the end. SCAMPER set the pace gamely, but came wide when entering the stretch and tired. AVEST MEATH finished fast next to the outside rail. The last three at the start were as good as left. POLITE was saved under restraint until rounding the far turn, where he was forced wide by the leader and was interfered with again when he attempted to come through on the inside, but finished fast and won going away. SMART MONEY set a good pace to the stretch, but tired when challenged. AERONICA raced wide on all the turns and tired after making a challenge at the eighth post. SOLID ROCK ran well and passed MAGNET LAND in the stretch drive. The latter set the early pace, but pulled up lame. JACK HILL was practically left at the post.
