Kngland, May I.— Aga Khans Diophon. chestnut son of Grand Parade and Donnetta, won the Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket this afternoon before a crowd of almost record size. Bright Knight, racing wide close to the outer rail, offered a strong challenge on the ascent approaching the finish, but under strong urging, Diophon held on to win by a head. Bright Knight beat Green Fire by a neck for second place and Tom Pinch was only a head further back in fourth place. Caravel was a close fifth. The time for the mile was 1 ::*.!. Kin George V.s starter. Knight of the Garter, was seventh behind Corolet.
