TURF NEWS OF THE DAY FROM BELMONT PARK NEW YORK, N. Y., May 27. Trainer Max Hirsch has decided not to ship the Salubria Stables Fluvanna to Kentucky for the Oaks. Wynnewood came out of the first race with a serious wound in his side, where he had been kicked while at the post. Doubtless this injury had its effect on his performance. W. Irvine arrived from his home in Baltimore where he went to visit his wife who lias been ill. He reported that she is out of danger. Little sickness was reported among the horses shipped from Toronto or from other points. Ranah, in the stable of Al Austin, was coughing slightly when unloaded from Woodbine. Carl Schilling made a flying trip from Louisville to confer with Mr. Cochran in reference to a further campaign in Kentucky and it is also believed that the purchase of Williams Brothers Reputation will be discussed. William Shea received word from John S. Barbee that his mare Flying Cinder has a fine bay colt foal by Sweep. This foal is a brother to one that was destroyed in the Uarbee fire last year and one for which Mr. Shea refused an offer of 0,000. A j j | j j
