Won driving: second and third the same. SPANISH NAME began fast, but was taken back and saved behind the leaders until after entering the homestretch, then secured an opening on the inside and in a stirring finish, outgamed EFFORT. The latter, away slowly, came swiftly on the outside and. finishing fastest of all, would have w n in a few more strides. BATTLEMAN set a fast pace and raced PAII/CK into defeat, but tired and just lasted to save third place. MASTER BLPE finished fast through the final eighth. TQ7fkA SECOND RACE— 3-4 Mile. SHlE followed the early pacemaker closely until called on after entering the stretch, then took the lead and won easing up. THORNY WAY, away slowly, was forled to work her way up through the field, but closed a gap into a fast going second. AMBER FLY also closed a big gap in the homestretch. PUFF BALL ran well and outfinished FLORALIA. TRAIL BLAZER lost ground on the last turn. JOY SMOKE set a fast early pace and tired badly in the last quarter. VIOLA BIBTON was outpaced, but raced gamely. CALKDON was pocketed on the inside for the first quarter and tired. KINO JOHN, on the outside for most of the race, came wide when entering the stretch, but came fast to take second place. FORNOVO lost ground when forced wide on the last turn, but would have been second in another stride. SMARTY set the pace to the last eighth and tired. Scratched— 79648 Freezy Sneezy, 101.
