DICK WHITTINGTON, close up from the start, finished resolutely under hard riding and got Bp to win in the last two strides. FLYING AL forced the pace throughout, but tired through the final Mgkth and, swerving, impeded SOCRATES, for which he was disqualified. SOCRATES showed high pecd in pacemaking and saved ground on all the tuins, but was knocked off his stride when interfered with. GEORGE DE MAR, away poorly, was rushed up on the outside and closed a big gap. YOUNG APRIL tired badly in the stretch. HAYWARD finished well. DUGOUT was away poorly. Won driving; second and third the Bamc. McAULIFFE began slowly, but improved his position steadily on the outside through the last quarter and, finishing fast, got up to win in the closing strides. BLUB MOON forced a fast pace all the way, raced THE DELAWARE II. into defeat and finished resolutely. THE DELAWARE II. set a fast pace from the start and saved ground on all the turns, but tired badly. MARGIN was penned in a pocket on the inside for the first half mile and found a clear course in the stretch, but tired in the final drive. WASHINGTON ran poorly in the going. INVICTUS set a good pace from the start under slight restraint and, after being passed, shook off ROYAL AIRMAN on the stretch turn and drew away to win in a canter. SUPERBUM steadily improved her position while racing on the outside in the best going and finished fast. GLADYS V. was on the inside in the deep going and ran a good race. BOWMAN tired. ROYAL AIRMAN showed early spaed and raced into the lead, but tired badly in the final eighth. SOPHY began slowly. BIG BLAZE followed the leaders under restraint to the stretch turn, then closed up rapidly into the lead and was going away at the end. ZEV, running in blinkers, began well and set a fast pace for the going, but came wide on the stretch turn and tired under his weight in the final sixteenth. STANWIX began slowly, but saved ground at the last turn and moved up with a rush in the stretch, but tired in the final drive. PRISCILLA RULEY followed the early leader closely, but was much used in racing with ZEV and tired. RIALTO ran poorly. Scratched 8421G3Whetstone, 105; 8310SMad Play, 11G; S379C!Lucky Play, 108. FLYING DEVIL raced well from the start and finished fast. THE POET worked his way up on the inside and slipped through on the stretch turn, but tired badly in the deep going through the final sixteenth. HONFLEUR ran a good race from the start.
