AMOR PATRIAE began fast from the outside and raced WRAITH into defeat in the first half mile and, drawing away into a long lead after entering the homestretch, won as his rider pleased. MERCURY came fast througli the last quarter and outfinisbed WRAITH for second place. The latter raced in the deepest going all the way and tired badly. SENOR began slowly, but raced into contention with a rush midway of the stretch turn and swerved over next to the inner rail in deep going in the last eighth. WHITE WINGS set the early pace and outstayed FORECAST II. The latter closed a big gap from a slow beginning. MIRYACH1T showed speed, but tired badly. The latter was outrun but gained steadily after entering the stretch and finshed fast. CRACK O DAWN set a good pace to the stretch and tired. WRACKHORN was outrun but finished well. DUNKS GREEN was saved for two turns of the field, then closed up steadily when called on and caught h!s tiring stable companion at the twentieth jump, but was ridden out to hold his advantage. GUINGAMP came with a rush when called on and was going fastest of all at the end. COURTEOUS rushed into a long early lead and jumped well all the way, but tired in the final sixteenth.
