f STALLION ARM ANT IS DEAD. The death has occurred in France of the stallion Armant, which, while being boxed, broke loose and collided with a wall. He belonged to the Vicomte de Fentares. Bred by Messrs. Dolan, and foaled in 3911, Armant was a black or brown horse by Fairman Camille, by Ladas, that was purchased privately in Ireland by Mr. R. C. Dawson on behalf of the Vicomte, for which he won twice as a juvenile, including the International Plate at Kempton, and in the following year he captured tho Granville Stakes at Ascot and the Exning Handicap at Newmarket.
