RAPID DAY moved up swiftly after going the lirst quarter and, coming fast through the stretch, took the lead, but had to be ridden hard from near the end to outstay NEWMARKET. The latter ran a good nice, but tired slightly in the final drive. KINDRED raced forwardly for most of the way. CLOUGHJORDAN began tiring after reaching the stretch. ALLIE OCHS was done after going the first half mile. PLEASURE quit in the stretch. STAR SWEEPER raced in closest pursuit from the start and, finishing gamely through the last eighth, wore DOWN TOWN down steadily and .outgamed the latter at the end. DOWN TOWN showed tine speed in pacemaking and finished gamely; but gave way right at the end. BRO iVNIE began slowly and finished well, although losing ground by a wide stretch turn.
