LATONIAS NEXT FEATURE Three Western Candidates Clash Today in Preparation For the Latonia Championship. LATONIA, Ky., Oct 13. Three of the principal western candidates for the valuable Latonia Championship Stakes, to be run next Saturday will receive a useful workout for the big race when they clash in the Covington Handicap at one mile and an eighth, which will be Tuesdays stellar attraction. Chilhowee, none the worse for his contest in the third International, is among the trio, and he will have to carry top weight of 115 pounds. This impost will sit lightly oh the crack son of Ballot and Bourbon Lass. Graeme, Mr. J. N. Camdens speedy Light Brigade gelding, and F. J. Johnsons highly-regarded filly, Dare Say, are the other elig-ibles in the race. The field is completed with Hopeless and August Belmonts Diagram. Present indications point to a field of eleven being named for the Latonia Championship Stakes and the number includes in addition to the three already named the Be-Iair studs trio of cracks Aga Khan, Flames and Priscilla Ruley ; August Belmonts Blind Play, Rancocas Stables Mad Play, Col. Labold, Honor and Sporty McGec. In preparation for his engagement in the stake, Blind Play was worked a mile and a quarter Monday morning in 2 :14. Trainer Louis Feustel did not want the colt to extend himself at any stage of the journey and appeared well satisfied by the manner in which he acquitted himself. Col. Winn is awaiting some word from James Fitzsimmons, trainer of the Belair studs three eligibles, and is sanguine that the trainer will decide to send his best West for a try at the rich prize.
