j CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES LOUISVILLE, Oct. 23. Trainers licenses have been granted to "Vernon Martin and Edward Kaiser. The horses trained by James Ownbey for J. H. Loucheim will be shipped to the Fair Grounds at the close of Churchill Downs racing. Those trained by J. McPherson are also intended for shipment to the Crescent City at the close of racing here. All of the flags at Churchill Downs were at half mast Tuesday, out of respect to the memory of General W. B. Haldeman, who. died at the track suddenly Monday afternoon. Judge Cornelius Haggerty and J. H. Loucheim of Philadelphia, arrived Tuesday for a short visit. Mr. Loucheim has a stable of horses here in charge of J. S. Ownbey and was elated over the victory of his Prancing Prince in the opening race. Trainer W. Perkins intends to ship six horses he has at Latonia to the Fair Grounds next week. The remainder of his string will be shipped to the Fair Grounds at the close of the Lexington meeting.
