f CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES LOUISVILLE, Ky Oct 29-T. W. Hemingway represented in the seventh race by Frank Gallox, claimed Provident for ,700. Wayne Garner, nephew of jockey Mack Garner, made his debut as a rider when he had the mount on Lady Finnell in the fourth race. Max Hirsch "has advised that he would ship Nicholas to start in the Jockey Club Handicap for two-year-olds. The colt will be looked after by trainer Pete Coyne. Trainer lion Jones reported that his two-year-old, Elsass, will be out of racing for some time, due to an injury to one of his legs received when kicked at the post in a race Tuesday. The horse Eelman was scratched by the stewards because the owner entered him without having a trainers license. He subsequently applied for a license. Lige Brewster arrived Wednesday from New York. He has been engaged to take a portion of the stable of J. O. and G. IL Keene to Tijuana to race during the winter.
