CHURCHILL DOWNS CLOSES Continued from first page. rush but just when he appeared the winner he began sulking and he just did outstay Bugler for the shorter portion, of the purse. Some fairly good sprinters engaged in the third race and it resulted in a lucky victory for Pure Dee, which beat Huon Pine, with Rapid Day closely in thewake of the pair. Rap.a ay was probably the best but he suffered extensively from interference which finally forced Stutts to take him wide in the stretch. Pure Dee showed a good performance and held on gamely during the stretch. The early running was dominated by Easter Bells and Kittie Jim, but both retired after reaching the stretch. Easter Bells was claimed by C. B. Shafer at a cost of ,100.
