STEAE E. set a good pace for the going and appeared an easy winner when nn eighth out, but tired unexpectedly and just managed to last long enough to win. EIGHT SIXTY raced well all the way and, finishing fast, barely failed to win. WILTRlDE AVOOD, after beginning well, dropped back, but saved ground on the last turn and otitgamed DONITA through the stretch. DON1T-A forced the early pace, but tired badly through the final eighth. HARRY DAAIS JR. quit badly after racing well for a half mile. Scratched Keala, 10G. AVARREN raced wide on the turns and lost much ground, but finished gamely. POOR PUSS was away well, but was through at the head of the stretch. NIZAM was in tight quarters most of the way, but closed up rapidly through the final eighth and took third place in the last stride. ARCTIC KING began well enough, but was outpaced and swerved out all through the stretch. LUCKY nAYS was the only one of the others to show any speed. RUN-CHIEF began to fall back immediately after the start.
