TO OPEN PUBLIC STABLE NEW YORK, N. Y.. Dec. G. William Knapp, formerly one of the leading jockeys of the country, and of late years a trainer for various owners, has severed his connections with the Frank J. Farrell Stable. It is reported that Mr. Farrell will retire as an owner of thoroughbreds and it is understood that trainer Knapp will open a public stable. Since he quit riding Knapp has developed a number of good horses, including the grey colt, Nicholas, for which Mrs. W. K. Yanderbilt II. paid 0,000 last summer.
