HAPPY THOUGHTS INCLUDED Speedy Filly Among the Horses of Racing Age to Be Disposed of at Xalapa Farm Sale. NEW YORK, N. T., Dec. S. Happy Thoughts, the crack two-yeai-old filly of 1923, which won five straight, a renewal of the Grab Bag Handicap among them, before Sarazen defeated her at Laurel Park in September in a 515,000 special race at three-quarters, is the best known of the horses of racing age the Fasig-Tipton Company will sell for the Xalapa Stud of Edward F. Simms at the armory of Squadron A. Madison avenue and 94th street, Thursday night. A daughter of Sir Martin and Gypsy Love, one of the line of Peter Pan, Von Tromp, Maiden Erleigh and Cremorne, Happy Thoughts is one of the speediest of the gentler sex. She ran three-quarters under 119 pounds in 1:11, in front of Parasol, Befuddle, Nellie Morse and Lucky Play when she won the Grab Bag. At Belmont Park ; in September a year ago she defeated Lad-kin, Sun Flag and Swingalong at five and half furlongs in 1:04, and at Aqueduct she galloped five-eighths in :58, beating Ne-grlna, Pond Lilly and Relentless. Ten two-year-olds, one of them the highly tried Sweepaway, will go witli Happy Thdughts and the stallions, mares, foals and yearlings that belong to the Xalapa Stud. Sweepaway is a son of Sweep and Lady Eastman and a . brother of Miriam Cooper and Ira Frances. The other two-year-olds are Falling Star, a chestnut colt, by Adams Express, from Starina ; Grand Review, chestnut gelding, by Grand Parade, dam Princess Polly; Loved One, chestnut filly, by Xego-fol, dam Mileage ; Prince of Bourbon, chestnut colt, by Prince Palatine, dam Forever ; Roman Princess,- bay filly,- by Prince Palatine, dam Largo ; Shady Sally, bay filly, by Louvois, dam Elevation ; Silent Princess, bay filly, by Prince Palatine, dam Bertie V. ; Soldier True, chestnut colt, by Trap Rock, dam Federal Girl, and Vivandierre, brown filly, by Trap Rock, dam Haversack. Prince Palatine was Mr. Simms 50,000 son of Persimmon and Lady Lightfoot that was destroyed, in a. fire at Xalapa Farm some seven weeks back. His colt, Prince of Bourbon, is from Forever, a half-sister of Eternal. Silent Princess is from a half-sister of Cock o the "Walk and John Smulaki ; Roman Princess, a half-sister of Largetto and Skirmisher, is a great-great-granddaughter of Hira, dam of Himyar. Loved One is from a sister of the dam of Mad Hatter and Mad Play. Soldier True is a half-brother of Lord Baltimore II., winner of the 1923 revival of the Eastern Shore Handicap. These two-year-olds bid fair to make first rate three-year-olds, because they were saved this year. However, they had enough training for proper development
