JOCKEY OBRIEN SUSPENDED NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. S. Jockey J. OBrien was suspended for five days by the stewards for rough riding in the third race. He cut across in front of his opponents at the start and permitted Gayly to swerve over on Ossaleen near the finish. Mergler claimed a foul, stating that OBrien cut him off just before entering the stretch. OBrien was warned several days ago about rough riding.
