NEAR THE ,000,000 MARK New High Record in Values Established at the Newmarket December Sales U. S. Buyers. LONDON, Eng., Dec. 8. Attended by the largest crowd in ten years, and with bidding brisk, the Newmarket December sales established a new high record in values. An aggregate of ,933,735 was received for the thoroughbreds offered. Eighty-five lots were disposed of at an average of ,260. American bidding was not of great volume, but J. N. Camden of Kentucky was a liberal buyer. He bought several choice horses, and was a daily visitor at the sales. George W. AVingfield of Reno, New, purchased a stallion to head his far western breeding farm. The American purchases, which were bought in the paddocks and privately, will be shipped to New York on the steamship Minnetonka, sailing from London on December 12. These included the horses of J. N. Camden, W. J. Salmon, G. W. AVingfield and 1 T. F. Ryan. j Love-Oil, an eleven-year-old bay mare, brought the highest price of the sale. She went to Lord Furriess on his bid of 5,500.
