— — — BM TIJUANA STABLES AT DOWNS i Special Train of Thoroughbreds 5 Now Quartered at Douglas Park and Churchill Downs. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 28.— Quite a shipment has arrived from Tijuana after one I of the fastest trips ever made in transporting horses across the continent. The six c cars that left Tijuana last Wednesday afternoon were routed as a special with Pullmans attached and the horsemen who made the trip were loud in their approval of the [ manner in which the train was handled and I the speed that was maintained. Several of I the cars went to other points. Those arriving were Earl Linnell with the horses of the Golden State Stable and the Leslie Stable. The ones of the Golden State Stable were ! Contusion, LaHonton and Vasquez. TT»e ■ members of the Leslie Stable were Duty Boy, , The Cheetah, Sannatuga, Osprey, Lockedale, , Norfield and Catharine Marrone. John McGee brought the three members of the La Brae Stable, they being Sunspero, winner of the Tijuana Cup, Herdsman and Elector, the latter two being three-year-olds that are eligible for the Derby. Jockey J. D. Mooney will ride for this establishment. The J. W. Marchbank stable was another to arrive on the special, and the members of this stable, in charge of trainer Bert Johns, were stabled at Douglas Park. They are Barn Dollar, Snooksie Bradley, Rock Heather, Lord Julian and Lady Julian. With this stable came the two good apprentice riders G. Johnson and A. Mortenson. Johns denied that E. R. Bradley had purchased the contract held by Marchbank on Johnson. All the members of the above stables shipped well. The Swingalong Stable, which arrived prior to* the above shipment, is at Douglas Park in care of trainer Dick Watts and is comprised of Chilhowee, Swingalong, Pol-tova. Repulse, Foolscap, Skit, Fredericktown, Nancy Langhorne, Martha Martin, Sir Maurice and Samaron. Jockey F. Sharpe is the stable rider. Gamester, the Carl Wiedemann three-year-old, that has been critically sick here following his trip from Miami, Fla, finally sue- : cumbed. He had shown slight improvement lately, but suffered a relapse. He was the only Derby eligible from this stable. Dave Shaw is an arrival from Havre de Grace. Jockey E. Petzoldt is an arrival from Tijuana, coming with the establishments under the care of trainer Earl Linnell. i
