SCOTCH BROOM, fractious at the post, was away well and was saved behind the leaders to the head of the stretch, where he came on the outside and. finishing fast, ovethauled MR. PEPP in the last sixteenth, and won going away. Mil. PEPP set a fast pace and finished gamely when challenged. JOY SMOKE, always close up, could not improve his post ion in the stretch. WILDERNESS was shuffled back at the start and finished fastest of all. PRINCE OF POWER ran well to the stretch, where he tired badly. DIGIT, off forwardly, quit early. I.1EI TENANT SEAS set a good pace, but tired badly. DINKS GREEN, closest in pur suit of th-- leade-r in the early running, was abreast of L1ECTENANT SEAS when lioth went down DINKS GREEN was remounted, but wus a tired horse and GOLDEN CUP outgamed him for second place in a br-sk drive.
