Tingle — Findaj Registers His Third straight Sneeess of Mnple Heights Hetttng. ♦ CLEVELAND, Ohio. May 26 — Following a most exciting stretch struggle, F. J. Boyles Strut Miss Lizzie was returned winner from Honfleur and Brilliant in the Rocky River Purse, fifth and principal contest at Maple Heights Park this afternoon. Hermidale cut out the running to the stretch, with Dust-flower and Strut Miss Lizzie in closest pursuit. At the turn for home, there was a general closing up of the rear horses. An eighth out, it appeared as if any but Senor had a chance for victory. Strut Miss Lizzie took the best going, on the outside, while Honfleur closed up strongly on the inside. The former had the most in reserve for the final drive. Brilliant was a creditable third after racing well up throughout. Overhead conditions were ideal today. The track was much improved and should be in i a good condition by tomorrow. A good mid-week crowd was in attendance. J. C. Mc "rimmin. who saddled Miss Oakland, winner of the first race, for W. H. Tingle made it a double, when Lure of Gold outlasted Perhaps and won the sixth rather handily. Dreamer was a fast closing third. Medina a keen factor to the stretch tired tntrtty cmtr the end. . . - -J Miss Oakland furnished a surprise when she annexed the curtain raiser. After rac- : ing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, she closed stoutly and outlasted the pacemaker Just a Toy in the final tost. Golden Sweep finished resolutely and easily disposed of the others. In a most exciting finish Helen G. just got up in the closing strides to beat Phyllis Gentry in the second. Mit came from far back to secure the short end of the purse. Leslie raced within striking distance of the leaders to the streteh head in the third event, then took command and held his company safe thereafter. Sweetum was much the best of the others. Verbena went well for half the trip, then weakened, but was an easy third. Antonia, the favorite, was never prominent. Closing up with good courage on the outside of the leaders through the stretch. Fin- I day registered his third successive win of the meeting when he scored handily over Tippity Witch-t and Little Alfred in the fourth race. Tippity Witohet came from far back in the run home. Little Alfred, the early leader, was tiring rapidly near the end. Another exciting finish developed with the running of the concluding race when Stev- ens just got up to earn the verdict by the shortest of margins from Gen. Cadorna. J. A. Parsons claimed Sweetum for ,500 out of the third race. The condition books for the Brooklyn Park meeting, whi: h opens here on Monday next, w. re listriljel among horsemen here today.
