Latest Turf Gossip From Fair Latonia LATONIA. Ky., June 4. Julius Reeder. who is accepting stake nominations for the R.u-elanLĀ» track, reports that tne horsemen are responding. liberally and that the additions that will come in before closing time Wednesday will comprise a goodly batch. Grover Hughes was an arrival with the veteran High Command and the three-year-old Whats Dat and Xoko. R. Harwigs horses, in charge of A. W. Booker, came this morning from Maple Heights. Trainer Ham Keene will send six of the Joseph E. Widener horses to race here. They will b" trained by J. O. Keene. The latter has also arranged to bring here from Keene-land. the fillies Twilight Hour, Danger Cross and Tesuque. The trio have been bred to Master Robert and are intended to be rac?and. Queen of the Forest probably the best sprinter here is also intended to be bred shortly and to be raced soon thereafter. Homing Bird, which was badly cut down in her last start, may be saved for breeding purposes. Jockey D. Hum is no longer attached to the E. R. Bradley Stable. He was given his release this morning. Jockey Lawrence Lyke, who has been at the Idle Hour Stock Farm for some time, rejoined the stable this morning and may resume riding shortly. Jockey Chick Lang, who came here to ride Princess Doreen in the Inaugural Handicap, received word this morning that his wife had given bir;h to a girl. The proud jockey departed tonight for his home in Baltimore. The following trainers were granted licenses this morning: W. W. Taylor, Geo. L. Eckler, Charles Shiioh, Hugh Shevlin, I. B. Fitzgerald, T. Koerner, W. Jenkins, M. Kavanagh, R. B. Stelle and James Maloney. Jockey C. Lang and apprentices Jas. Dry den and G. Phillpot, the later attached to G. F. Croissant stable and the former to W. T. Andersons, were also granted licenses. The delegation from Louisville for ttie opening was an extensive one and included many notable residents of the Fall City. There were also numerous newcomers from Indianapolis, Dayton, Chicago, Lexington, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Cleveland. All the members of the Kentucky State Racing Commission were on hand, also secretary Sherwood. Eddie Austin, well known layer, was among the visitors from New Orleans. He is on his way to Virginia* Jockey E. Martins injury consisted of a fracture of his right foot. He will be out of the saddle for some time as a result.
