BREAKSTRACK RECORD Broomster Lowers Mile and a Six ¬ teenth Mark at Aurora Beats The Poet Hourmore and Sequel in Thrilling Contest Be ¬ fore Immense Attendance AURORA 111 June 20 li T Coopers Eroomster under a rousing ride by jockey Kenneth Nde was winner of the Fox Theatre Handicap the half holiday feature at Ex position Park Macadora Stables The Poet and S Mosts Hourmore fought it out for second place the former getting the decision with Sequel a close up fourth and High Water last a length and a half in the rear Broomster was soon rushed to the front and going around the first bend had an ad vantage of a length and a half Noe rated him in front nicely until midway of tho stretch but was then forced to ride hard to stall off his opponents He rode with all his skill and had his mount home a winner by a short distance It was a splendid race and a thrilling finish The Poet coming from the rear and finishing fast on the inside to get up in time to take second place from Hourmore by a nose while the latter was a jhead in advance of Sequel The mile and sixteenth was run in l453s and clipped twofifths seconds from the track record for the distance made by Pricemaker last year The fine weather brought out one of the largest if not the largest crowd of the meet ¬ ing the spacious stand being packed to overflowing The track was lightning fast fastONE ONE FOR W C WEANT WEANTThe The fourth race a long distance contest at one mile and an eighth was won in handy fashion by W C Weants Elias O r rCoughs Coughs Wilmer the Wizard was second arl arlDorothy Dorothy Adams third Five starters went to the post Atossa being a late withdrawal When the webbing was released Wilmer the theWizard Wizard went to the front closely followed by Bear Grass When straightened out for the therun run down the back stretch they were still running in this order with Elias O moving up on the outside and Zealot fourth on the therail rail After they had gone a half Bear Grass was in close quarters and dropped back the Weant horse moving into second place Wil mer the Wizard led until the last sixteenth when Elias O caught him and won drawing drawingclear clear In the meantime Dorothy Adams had come around the outside and finishing fast disposed of Zealot A bulky field of mediocre performers went to the post in the initial dash and Glory carrying the silks of K Ramsey was victress She outran her rivals from the start and at the end was better than a length in front of Wahkeena The latter raced in closest pur ¬ suit for the entire distance and finished well Approval was a good third three lengths in advance of the remainder First Pullet failed to display much speed and was well beaten beatenNEVADA NEVADA STOCK FARM WINS WINSThe The Nevada Stock Farm Stable scored its itsfirst first victory since its arrival here when whenTamale Tamale Dick a son of Atheling II was home homein in front of the five twoyearolds opposed to tohim him in the second race Northern Miss the odds on choice was second and Mission Chimes third It was one of the few poor starts that starter Morrissey has made at atthe the meeting and Outlawed was left at the thepost post while Northern Miss was away poorly poorlyThe The winner led from the rise of the barrier to the end Northern Miss soon raced into second place and stayed there throughout while Mission Chimes gained steadily and was going well at the finish finishLittle Little Alfred finally earned brackets when he was best in the largest field of the after ¬ noon in the fourth race He outbroke his opponents as usual and did not stop today winning by five open lengths Wine Jujr raced into second position approaching stretch head and was never threatened for second place thereafter while Mamie o Jane managed to hold on long enough to beat Polychresty for third place I IEight Eight good sprinters contested the sixth1 race and another fine finish resulted Gold Mount winning by a head with Rachel Potter a neck in front of Contusion The winner raced well up throughout and got up in thj last stride Rachel Potter set all the early pace and only gave way right at the end while Contusion came from a long way back Riviera tired in the stretch and was unplaced unplacedProtectress Protectress an outsider took the closing race of the day she taking command at tho half mile ground and holding her opponents safe thereafter Seths Flower was second with Tulalip the public choice third Tulalipj was in close quarters going to the first turn and was forced to race wide thereafter thereafterThe The books for the first meeting of the Western Racing Association at Devonshire Park Windsor arrived and were distributed by M N Macfarlan The majority of the purses are 1000 with a 1200 handicap daily and the 2500 Independence Handicap to be run on July 4 opening day General manager Woolatt as always considers the comfort of the horsemen and horses above all 1 things and has made every effort to provide them with suitable quarters
