J. E. DAVIS GOOD STABLE To Be Represented in Maryland by Twelve Horses. ♦- Reparation and Storm King Among Older Campaigners — Some Promising Two-Year-Olds. • RAI/TIMORK, Md.. Manh 31.— J. BL Davis, president of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, will be represented by a stable of twelve during the Maryland spring racing season. His horses have been wintered at Renning under the care of trainer Matt Brady. Reparation and Storm King are among the older horses. The juveniles are unknown quantities, as Rrady has not hurried them along, preferring to wait until later in the season before showing them under colors. There is a colt by Dominant and a filly by Star Hawk that should have little trouble winning. The last named is out of Humility and is a half-sister to Reparation. The others are by less fashionable sires. Mr. Davis has a jumper of high merit in Relentless, winner of four out of six starts last year and a trifle less than SJO.OOO in purse money. These victories included the C.lendale and International steeplechase handicaps. She is being given a careful preparation with the Green Spring Valley and Appleton Memorial steeplechases in view. Relentless is not the only top-notch jumper in the care of Rrady, as the latter also is training the mammoth Labrador for Marshall Field. This giant lost none of his flesh through the winter months and has exhibited a dazzling turn of speed in gallops over the flat at I.enning. He would be a certainty to win a maiden race at Bowie and might beat a fair horse at a mile in his present condition. Hut Mr. Field has ruled that he shall start only over the sticks, so Rrady is devoting his energies to readying him for the big spring events at Iimlico. He should be a much better horse through the. field this year. Another horse in the barn that is not owned by Mr. Davis is the juvenile Star Ray, by Hendrie. This colt is the property of Maj. Ci. R. Stryker. The dozen of Mr. 1 avis and the two outsiders are listed below : OLDER HORSES. Pelvale, b. g, kf Hourless — Pcvy. by Fair Flay. Coypou, I, ni. ." . Iiy William Uufus Coy Maid, kf Cupbearer. Mr. Davis has been fortunate in obtaining the services of steeplechase jockey Cheyne, who led the American cross-country riders in 1924. He was absent from the saddle last season, due to illness, but has been galloping horses at Renning for some time and will be ready for the colors at Pimlico. He will ride Relentless in all her stake engagements and Labrador whenever possible.
