PROGRAM FORPLATERS Cheaper Grade of Racers Given Opportunity at Downs Keeneland Stud Stable Registers Registersa a Double Success With Forest ForestNymph Nymph and Pani Roma LOUISVILLE Ky May 28 Todays rac ¬ ing program at Churchill Downs was by far the worst of the meeting to date Six of the seven races were run under claiming conditions and they brought out inferior fields The only exception was the fourth and this was for twoyearold maiden fillies It resulted in a win for Forest Nymph a homebred owned by the Keeneland Stud Stable This establishment is the property of T O and G IT JCeene Incidentally Forest Nymphs victory was the second of the after ¬ noon for the Keeneland outfit as Iani Roma won the second race on the card cardBoth Both of the Keeneland horses were saddled by trainer William S Rust who took up where trainer A D Steele left off when he went to Fairmount Park Collinsville 111 with one division of this stable Previous to this the Keene brothers had not won a race at the meeting meetingForest Forest Nymph was ridden by jockey E Le gerc and she was given a rousing ride all the way Burd Helen a first starter from E R Bradleys Idle Hour Farm Stable was made favorite here but second was the best that she could do Bourbon Girl which has been highly tried again failed but was forced to race wide all the way wayJockey Jockey William Garner was astride Pani Roma and he made her wear down Massillon in the stretch to win going away Margate got the short end of it here Massillon darted into the lead at the start but when the test came he was found wanting wantingLancer Lancer won tho fifth race which was over the mile distance and given the title of the Sheet Metal Contractors Purse in compliment to a convention being held by these trades ¬ men and jockey D Neal was on the winner winnerThe The field players came into their own when Nicholson WPn the sixth race He was ridden by jockey J Kederis who brought him from behind with a rush He fairly ran over his rivals at the end Phil Foto was second and Oureida third thirdJockey Jockey Joe Kederis was suspended for ten days by the stewards for rough riding ridingMission Mission Chimes well ridden by jockey W Pool won the first race in a rousing finish with Trinket while the short end of it fell to Oseda In the early stages Atla showed the way with Mission Chimes in the ruck but after reaching the far turn Pool took his mount up and he readily responded Trinket encountered bad luck or he might have reversed the verdict verdictThe The Keeneland Stud owned by J O and G H Keene won its first race of the meeting I Continued on twentieth page PROGRAM FORPLATERS Continued from first pare when Pani Roma under the skillful guidance of jockey W Garner triumphed in the sec ¬ ond race Garner restrained his mount off the pace set by Massillon until after turning for home but when he called on her she had plenty left Margate which was well up from the start finished in third position Jeb was a tired horse at the end of the journey journeyBlack Black Grackle took down the long end of the purse in the third race by the margin of a length from Russell Cave The latter was poorly ridden or he might have reversed the verdict My Destiny finished in third position The winner was saved off the early running which was dominated by My Destiny but when jockey E Benham asked her for her best she readily gave it Russell Cave was guided all over the trade The others cut no figure in the running of the race
