TO SELL UNRULY QUATRAIN Owner Disgusted With Former FormerStar Star and Will Offer for Sale Saleat at Auction NEW YORK N Y May 31 Frederick Johnson was so disgusted with the failure of Quatrain to leave the post in the Metropoli ¬ tan that he asked C J Fitzgerald to sell the horse without reserve to the highest bidder at auction The sale will be held in the Belmont Park paddock at 1 30 on Thursday Quatrain is by Omar Khayyam Bonnie Mary by Ultimus He has raced but little and is the winner of the Louisiana Derby valued at 17350 the New Orleans Handicap value 22100 and three other races last year as a threeyearold His total winnings at three years old amounted to 41550 and the horse came out this year with a big reputa ¬ tion his work in the South and since his arrival at Belmont Park having been of the sensational order On one occasion he worked threeeighths in 33 seconds Quatrain has numerous engagements for the rest of the racing season including the Suburban and Brooklyn Handicaps He will be offered with or without engagements The horse is sound
