Dick Welles Selections SelectionsAt At Aurora KOUXD ItOBIX BLACK DEER FOIYCAKP FOIYCAKPThe The best play of the day is hi the opener a five and a half furlongs dash under claim ¬ ing conditions which brings together a large field of bad ones with one exception This trick is ROUND ROBIN He is many points better than anything else in the race and needs but to be on his good behavior to account for this purse He is a notoriously bad post actor and this fault of his usually wrecks his chances for winning when he acts in that manner He is making his first appearance at the races since the Jefferson Park meeting and with the long rest he has had he should come back to the races better than ever The place and show por ¬ tions are nothing but a tossup We favor BLACK DEER for the place and POLY CARP for the short end oC the purse purse3IELTIXA 3IELTIXA aielXTOSH HIS QUEEX QUEEXThe The shorter distance of five and a half furlongs which is carded as the second race should be all to the advantage of MELVIXA In her two most recent races she began faltering after passing the five eighths post after being well up At the lesser distance today we are expecting her to get out in front and hold her speed for the distance without much trouble McIN TOSII has been showing steady improve ¬ ment and he is apt to prove troublesome in the race He usually shows his best over the shorter distances and for that reason we like him for the place here HIS QUEEN surprised everybody when she got off in front and held the lead to win all the way paying at odds of 67 to 1 That price is not to be expected on her today but she looks like a good play for the show at any rate rateGEXTRY GEXTRY BITSY BEE DELPHI DELPHIThe The third is at threequarters and all in all it is a bad lot The onetime good racer GENTRY is our selection here He showed fairly well in a race the early part of the meeting which was at a mile when he finished second to Cavalry Since then he has been racing in the distance events which is not to his liking The shorter distance should serve him better and if he gets off welt look for him to beat the others home BITSY BEE is still a maiden but due to graduate most any day now if her last race is a true indication of her form In that out she held the lead to the stretch but then tired and was eventually passed by Rock Bottom the winner That same kind of a race today would give her the place again DELPHI can do better than he showed in his last out Tab him for the show end of the purse here hereJIUSQTJOI JIUSQTJOI HOT DOG GREEK FRIAR FRIARThe The cl ss of those entered in the fourth at a mile is not much better than those which race in the preceding number and picking the winner is no easy trick On present form RUNQUOI shows up as the mostprobable jvinner He is more or less partial to a distance but he has raced over the mile route before and it should hot hinder his chances In his last out he finished second to Gipsy Flyer beaten by a nose and the same brand of racing today should find him home the winner HOT DOG ran far below his true form in his last out and we are expecting him to be much closer up today GREEK FRIAR is a most prom ¬ ising maiden and may do well enough to get the show money THE WIRE JOSIE HARTMAX EMBRYO EMBRYOThe The Mendota Purse at fiveeighths is to be run as the fifth and brings the juvenile racers to the post We are nicking THE WIRE from the stable of Barney Berman to beat JOSIE HARTMAN which races for If C McConnell The former ran a good race his last out even though beaten It was a race to suggest that he is going to be a hard one to beat today Of course JOSIK has to be given due consideration and she will not be declared out until the finish line is passed She lost a tough one to Edna Mitchell in her last out and appeared to tire towards the end It was her first try over the fiveeighths distance and she can be expected to show better today EM ¬ BRYO has one win to his credit here and will very likely be the one to chase the first two mentioned home Of the others SOL seems to have the edge edge31AJ 31AJ OVERTAKE SOLIMEXTE SOLIMEXTERAJ RAJ showed such an improvement in his last race that we think he may go well enough to cop this number It is over the mile route and the poorer grade of racers are to compete He finished third to Rock Bottom and Bitsy Bee then and it was a good showing for him He needs but to show a little improvement over that effort to knock down this purse OVERTAKE is about due to run one of his good races and for that reason we are giving him the call for the place SOLIMBNTE turned in some good races at Tijuana last winter and a return to that form would find her among the money earners at the finish finishFAXOREL FAXOREL SHIXDY DESPAIR DESPAIRThe The concluding race on the program is the only one given over to the distance perform ¬ ers it being at a mile and a sixteenth We have been informed that PANOREL is grad ¬ ually getting into winning form and ready for one of his good races Should this be the case he looks like the best play in this number SHINDY has been coining along in a manner to suggest that he will soon be winning a race He should go well enough to take down the place money DESPAIR is not to be despaired with It will be his first appearance here since the Downs meeting at Louisville and if his workouts count for anything will be in there fighting at the finish VAN PATRICK is long overdue and who knows he may sur ¬ prise all today One Best Bet ROUND ROBIN in the First Race
