At Fmrmoumt Park COYNE— KENDALL— REALIST. A three-quarters dash which brings into action some of the ordinary grade of platers is the race to start off the days proceedings. COYNE, which races for Harned Bros., is perhaps better at this time than at any stage of his racing career. He has been collecting the place or she w money in most every start, as well as getting the winners portion on one occasion. He is strictly a front runner and at this shorter distance should lead from start to finish. KENDALLS last win was at Aurora, where he was returned victorious in his only start. His last rate here was a good one, too, when he placed behind Post Mistress. If he runs as kindly today he should again get the second money. REALIST seems to be the best of the others and is given the call for the show. TKOMIING TO DAY— TOMMY FOSTER— SHASTA GRAFTON. Two-year-old maidens are to show their wares in the second offering, over the five-eighths distance. TROMPING TO DAY turned in a whale of a performance in her last start, which was in the mud, to lose the decision to Gnome Second. If that race didnt take too much out of her we expect to see her home first today. TOMMY FOSTER has failed his backers on more than one occasion when he was supposed to have the race at his mercy. If any good at all. he should get the place here. SHASTA GRAFTON has been getting, the show money in many of her starts and her usual race today should see her landing in the same spot. LONG POINT— RAMA— BELLFONT. The third, called the Belleville Purse, and over the mile route, brings to the post one of the largest fields of the day, seventeen being entered, but here the best play of the day is spotted. This trick is LONG POINT, an easy winner of his last out and a greatly improved racer over his previous performances. He has been quite a while in getting into his best form, but now that he has reached that condition should not have the least trouble in leading home this bunch. RAMA should be the one to chase LONG POINT, home if his last race was a true indication of his condition. BELLFONT turned in a good workout the other day and on the strength of that trial we are picking her for the small end of the purse. SHINING GOLD— FALSE FACE-ODD SETH. The improved going should greatly benefit the Colden Maxim mare, SHINING GOLD, which is carded as a starter in the fourth. It is over the sprinting distance of three-quarters and her opponents are of the ordinary variety. While she can show well on most any kind of a track, her chances should be materially enhanced by the fast footing. FALSE FACE has two winning races in a row to his credit, but we think he »s doomed to meet defeat if SHINING GOLD races as she is capable of. The real danger in the race is ODD SETH. She has proved most consistent and, if in the mood, is apt to romp home the winner. PRESIDENT— BEAT BCTLER— EDWARD GRAY. Two former Bradley racers are to hook up in the East St. l.ouis Lions Club Purse, which features the card. It is over the mile and an eighth route and under conditions. PRESIDENT and BEAU BUTLER are the two racers in question, both now in different hands. We favor the chances of the former On the showing he made in his race last Saturday behind Reputation. It was an exceptionally good effort for him and he needs but to run as kindly today to take down the winners, portion of the purse. BEAU was a winner in his last out, but he will have to step a lot faster today to beat PRESIDENT, providing that racer is in a kindly mood. EDWARD GRAY should b? the one to account for the show end of the purse, basing on his present good form. SILYER SPUR— RUNDARK— LATHROP. SILVER SPUR came back with a good race after running far below her true form in a previous start. Assuming that she has kept that form we look for her to be victorious in the sixth event, another three-quarters dash. In her last out she beat some fairly good ones, among them being Doctor Glenn and Texas. RUNDARK promises to be the one to run to the place, taking a line through his most recent races. He is far away from being the racer he was at Tijuana last winter, but should I e able to get the second money in ths field. LATHROP is not at all consistent, else he would have to be given more consideration. However, he is well able to knock down the show end of the purse against this bunch. HILLY STAR— FOOLSCAP-PEARL MADELINE. Another large field is promised for tbe concluding race on the card, as no fewer than fifteen were entered. We think the race run by BILLY STAR in his last out was all that he needed to put him on edge for todays race and will be very much surprised if he does not prove the winner. That last effort of his was such to indicate that he was perhaps just a little short and the trip should have done him a world of good. FOOLSCAP has shown nothing of late in competition, but in his training moves has been coming along in a manner to suggest that he will soon be getting down in front. A race back to those trials should see him getting the place tcday. IEABL MADELINE has but to run back to her Juarez form to be an easy third. One Best Bet — LONG POINT, in the Third Race.
