PETE THE SCRIBE was taken back and came again at the end. ARARAT II. had a rough race through the first turn of the field and pulled up lame after taking Ike final jump. Won handily: second and third driving CLAPTRAP moved up with a rush on the outside shortly after the start and raced into a clear lead before entering the stretch, but interfered with PATRICIA J. and VOLANTE by swerving over in the stretrh drive and was disqualified. PATRICIA J. showed a good order of speed throughout, but was forced to be taken up when the leader swerved over, then finished with a rush. VOLANTE had a rough ran- and finished well.
