The latter raced forwardly from the start and was gradually wearing the winner down. Won handily; second and third driving. HARRY CARROLL raced into the lead while going to the first turn and, setting a good pace whil* saving ground on the turns, withstood challenges from DELPSIYE after rounding the far turn and had to be ridden out to retain his lend to the finish. DELUSIVE gained steadily along the back stretch and raced to the winner while rounding the far turn, but tired through the final eighth. I.ANOIL raced in close up pursuit of the winner for the first three-quarters and tired. COMPROMISE vvaa squeezed hack at the start and closed a gap. Scratched— 12848 Hamadan, 110: 12000 Warfare, 110. SARATOGA MAJE set a good pace, raced FLY BOOK into early defeat, saved ground on the turns, and swerved slightly at the eighth post, but easily held HEDOKKENCE safe. The latter raced close up and gained in the stretch, but could not reach the winner in the last eighth. ARLESIAN raced to the winner while rounding the far turn, but tired badly. CLEAR SKY was never dangerous. KLYBOOK showed much speed for five-eighths, then quit. BOSTONIAN gradually gained on the early leaders and responded with a rush when called onj came to the outside of the leaders for the final drive, and wearing them down steadily raced into the lead in the last fifty yards. SIR HARRY, away slowly, secured a clear course on the back stretch, then improved his position rapidly and closed a big gap with a tremeudous rush. WHISKERY was forced wide on the first turn, then raced to second place, and raced SCAPA KLOW into defeat, but tved after taking the lead. SCAPA KLOW began in a tangle but soon began to gain rapidly and took the lead midway of the back stretch and saved ground, but tired in the final drive. BLACK PANTHER was in tight quarters in the early running and was forced to race on the outside throughout, but 1 N.scd a big gap in the last half. SAXON showed early speed and finished well. PENSTICK raced into a brief lead while racing next to the inner rail then began to loaf around the far turn and was passed momentarily, but came on the outside of LOINGER in the stretch and taking the lead again was going away at the end. LOUNGER raced past the other with a rush on the turn for home and took the lead but could not withstand the winners challenge. STIRRlP OOP made :i game challenge while rounding the last turn but tired. KNOCKANY raced lapped on the leaders for the first quarter, but was crowded back when LRSA MAJOR fell. I.KWIS, close up in the early stages, gained fast near the end and was ovrtaking the leaders with every stride. KAN PI IT was slow to leave the barrier and was never a factor.
