WHISKERY Today this same pair of gallant threeyearolds will measure strides in another Derby the 25000 added Fairmount Derby at the Collinsville track with thousands and thousands of admiring racing enthusiasts from St Louis and surrounding communities to cheer them on in what may be another titantic struggle as marked the recent Kentucky Derby OSMAND OSMANDThe The Fairmount Derby has among its named contestants in addition to the above mentioned stars E B McLeans Jock which finished third in the Kentucky Derby as well as Rolled Stocking Buddy Bauer and Black Panther which finished unplaced in the Churchill Downs classic Surely a great race is in store for the patrons of Fairmount Park today Great Rivals in Fairmount Derby H P Whitneys Whiskery on May 14 at historical Churchill Downs gained inclusion in the equine hall of fame as the fiftythird winner of the Kentucky Derby This much coveted honor came to the Whitney colt only after a gamely fought finish in which Whiskery vanquished J E Wideners Osmand with the brilliant Sande up A margin of a head separated the pair at the end after valiantly fighting for supremacy all through the stretch
