Won driving; second and third the same. RED PENNANT began slowly, but had a clear course from the start and, finishing gamely, got np to win in the last ten yards. BEST FRIEND, showing fine speed in pacemaking and saving much ground on the turns, barely lasted to save second place. GOSSOON had to work through a rough race and came fast right at the end. FORWARD PASS also had difficulty in getting through and finished fast, GEO. GROOM began well, but dropped back, then gained in the stretch when ridden hard. NEW BEAUTY tired. Won driving: second and third the same. LA DENTELLE began fast, showed the most speed and, setting a fast pace, gamely outfinished DOMESTICATED. The latter ran well and finished gamely after closing a gap and probably would have won in a few strides more. CORONEL closed a gap and ran a fine race. FAIR ANITA tired slightly right at the end. GIRL SCOUT, well ridden and away forwardly, raced under restraint until just before reaching the stretch, where she raced into the lead with a rush, but had to be ridden hard near the end to oustay PIGEON AVING II. The latter began slowly and was in last place for the first eighth, but closed a big gap and came with a rush through the stretch. PRINCE RONALD raced forwardly until in the last sixteenth, where he began tiring. SUN ALTOS, came from far back. BULLETIN and HENRY HORNER quit badly. RIVAL was done after going three-eighths. ORESTES II. was badly outrun. BARBARA raced fast and. gamely for. the entire way and made a game finish. JACK ALEXANDER ran a good race, had no mishaps, ,but had to be ridden hard near the end. SPANISn LAY was gaining steadily through the stretch. SMILING GUS tired. GEORGE DH MAR acted badly at the post and closed a big gap from a slow beginning. FAIR WIND tired in the stretch. MARSHALL NEY was ridden wide through the stretch and, with a bit more riding energy in the last sixteenth, might have won. BREISACHER showed fine speed and saved much ground on the turns, but tired in the final strides. SIXTY raced well. LA MORTE was close up to the last sixteenth. FLATTERY tired badly in the stretch. . BOLIVAR BOND was fully a sixteenth back for a half mile, then moved up fast and might have won but for racing wide into the stretch. SCOTLAND FOREVER showed the most speed, but tired.
