GAY HALLIE raced forwardly on the outside of OLD TOM and, forcing the pace to the stretch, came on the inside and, under hard riding, outfinished FLASHY. The latter improved her position gradually in the first half mile and raced into the lead on the outside near the last eighth, then finished well but tiring. OLD TOM showed the most early speed and set a good pace to the last turn before tiring. EMPTY GLASS raced well and had no mishaps. BURK-DALE was outpaced all the way. FRETWELL was outpaced for the first three-eighths, then gained on the leaders rapidly and, taking the lead on the inside in the stretch, tired from being in the worst going, but outfinished OUR JOAN. The latter raced in close quarter, but close up and, coming fast when clear in the stretch, finished fast and gamely. THISTLE GOLD showed much speed, had no mishaps and raced well all the way. DOMESTICATED dropped back on the far turn after showing the most early speed. OMARDALE ran a poor race and can do much better. QUADRILLE was severely knocked back when rounding the far turn. SECRECY began poorly, but was helped by the going and worked her way up to the leaders in the first half mile, then raced into the lead in the stretch and won in a canter. MARGARET ELNORA was outpaced for the first five-eighths, then rapidly passed tiring leaders and finished gamely. MAD A. raced well next to the inside rail and outfinished VOLT in the final drive. VOLT showed early speed and came again in the last sixteenth. OWL set the pace gamely until headed by SECRECY, then was done and tired badly. SON AMI, given a good ride, raced iu close up pursuit of the leaders, challenged BLACK FLYER gamely midway of the stretch and, after a brief drive, headed and passed the latter to win going away. BLACK FLYER began fast from the outside and, racing into the lead, 6et a good pace to the last eighth, but failed to withstand the winner. FLAHERTY began slowly and was far back to the stretch, then closed a big gap and finished fast and gamely. SANDY LADY had no mishaps and saved ground where possible. LITTLE ASBESTOS raced well. HAM moved up menacingly in the stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. ROYCROFTER was done after going well for the first half mile. ROBIN A SKTH challenged the leaders resolutely on the outside after entering the stretch and. coming rapidly under h.ird riding, took the lead from OMEN CO SHUT and outfinished LADDIE BlCK. The latter set the pace briefly and was headed by OPEN GO SHUT when entering the stretch, then came on fast and outfinished the latter through the final fifty yards. The latter moved up fast when enteiing the stret h after being saved and. wearing down the leaders, was gradually overtaking the winner. FIRST DANTE raced fonvardly and held on well. FRED DUBNER raced up into a contending position in the ■tretch. but was not good enough and tired badly. IRIG and SHAMPOO showed early speed, but also tired badly.
