f CANADIAN TURF NOTES [ Norman MacFarlan is much elated over tha arrival at the old Ross farm at Verscherea, Que., of a fine looking bay colt by Cudgel-Helen Rogers. He has a yearling filly full sister to this colt and also a two-year-old by Boniface — Helen Rogers. A few weeks back Mr. MacFarlan disposed of the two-year-old chestnut filly Pinchcr Creek, by Boniface — The Spirit, to Kenneth P. Dawes. Stanley Gillespie is here assisting John P. Turner in his duties as racing secretary. Gillespie acted as assistant to secretary J. P. Campbell for several years. John P. Turner, Jr., is also in the secretarys office here. Mrs. J. Simpson Dean and a party of racing enthusiasts are coming up from Delaware for the opening days sport. E. F. San-ford and J. Fleischmann, who have not missed an opening here in several years, are coming from Belmont Park and W. J. Salmoa will be here some day during the meeting.
