CHEROKEE MAID raced close up in the first half mile, gaining gradually and when clear in the stretch, wore down the leaders, but just lasted to outstay MARJORY SETH. The latter also in a contending position throughout, came fast on the outside in the stretch and almost got up to wear down the winner. GOLDEN TOP closed up considerable ground and finished resolutely. J. G. DENNY suddenly improved, set a fast pace the first half mile, but tired in the final drive. CIIINCILI A quit after forcing the pace and raced well for half a mile. KAMI-HAWAII raced in closest pursuit of IMPERATOR to the atretch. alwaya withstanding CRO-ATAN and MILES PRIOR, then wore down IMPERATOR aud won with speed in reserve. IMPERATOR took the lead and set a good pace to the last sixteenth, then tired and gave way to the winner. MILES IltlOR, always close up. failed to overtake the two leaders, but raced CROATAN into defeat and held on well. FRANK HAWLEY closed a big gap and was gaining fast at the end. JESSIE CAREY, shuffled back, recovered quickly and. under hard riding, worked her way up gradually, took the lead from STARFISH in the stretch and won going away. STARFISH set the pace under severe pressure to the stretch, then could not cope with the winner, but gamely outstayed ONCORA. The latter suffered much interference and had a rough race, but finished fast when clear in the stretch. TRUMPET raced in close quarters, but gained considerable ground. HIGHWAY begin slowly. WRENCH was done after racing well to the str. l.h. BLACK PARLINU tired badly. Bit! SHIN*; quit. CHARMING LADY wheeled at the start and waa hopelessly left. S. ratched— .175.5SI E-sie. 109. The latter, a contender frona the start, held on well and finished gamely. OA1NESWOOD followed the leader to the stretch, then rated into the lead, but tired and was eutfinished. MASCARA gained grcund steatlilv all the way TUB SQUIRE set the pace for the first half mile, but tired. PAKTAKE quit.
