t BOWIE TURF NOTES j BOWIE, Md., April 4. J. Pontius, owner of the promising three-year-old Michigan Boy, was an arrival from Detroit. Pontius raced Omnipotent, the dam of Michigan Boy, on the Canadian tracks some few years back. George Palmer, who acted as one of the patrol judges at Agua Caliente, was an arrival. He is filling a like position at Bowie. Hugh Garth was an arrival at Havre de Grace with twelve horses. He shipped direct from the farm at Charlottesville, Va. Mayor Frank Hayes, of Waterbury, Conn., wired his trainer P. E. Fitzgerald that he would be here Sunday and would visit Griff-wood Farm to look over the colt that his well-bred mare Memoria foaled a few days back. Mrs. D. Boyle purchased from Stanley Wilson the two-year-old filly Satin Eagle. Spurrier was claimed by J. Jeffreys yesterday for ,500. Kosciusko is the latest addition to starter Miltons schooling list. Jockey A. Robertsons agent reported to the clerk of the scales that the Whitney rider was ill and the lads engagements Friday afternoon were cancelled. Harry Hartley reported the loss of the plater Blade, which died this morning.
