LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES . and LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 4. The two-year-olds in the stable of R. B. and B. O. Hickman have been named : Shen, bay filly, by Sun Flag Paladium ; Surly, brown filly; by Tryster Mood ; Marching On, bay filly, by Light Brigade Hasty Chick, and Dacuquri, bay filly, by Golden Broom Chanteuse. Hasty Chick gave birth to a bay colt by Atwell Sunday at the Hickman Farm. Mr. and Mrs. Hurley Meyer will motor to Covington, the home " of the former today. Hurley will go to Lexington to make the mounts for his brother Carl Meyer, who will ride at the Blue Grass track. Paul Neal will ride at the Lexington meeting for J. J. Greely and return to Louisville to join the stable of John Marsch before the opening of the Downs on May 10. Jockey Carl Kurtsinger left last night for New York to join the stable of F. J. Kearns. He is able to walk without the aid of crutches or a cane, the bones broken in his foot having knitted perfectly. Bob Gilmore and Bert Michell, the latter trainer of the mighty Reigh Count, when he won the Derby and campaigned in England, were at the Downs. Jockey Charles Edwards and his bride, who was Miss Loretta Brooks before her marriage, motored to Louisville from Nashville, where they spent their honeymoon. Edwards will ride during the coming spring meeting at Lexington. J. J. Flanagan sent. Mrs. E. L. Swikards Oaks candidate, Surpryse, six furlongs at the Downs this morning in 1 :20. This filly appears to be a strong candidate for the Kentucky Oaks. Dr. C. C. Cann, of Canland Farm, near Lexington, has been doing quite a bit of dental work on the horses quartered at the Louisville tracks during the past few days.
