EDDY DENIES STATEMENT COLLINSVILLE 111 May 17 General manager R S Eddy Jr of the Fairmount Jockey Club emphatically denied the state ¬ ment that was printed recently relating that Mr Eddy and his associates were discour ¬ aged with the attendance during the current meeting and that they had anticipated can ¬ celling the remainder of the allotted dates if they could induce the Illinois Racing Com ¬ mission to refund the money they had paid to operate In interviewing members of the press Mr Eddy said the story was false and he attendance was larger than anticipated
