CLAIMING RACE PROGRAM Eiverside Park Card Monopolized by Platers Crooning Gradu ¬ ates From Maiden Ranks KANSAS CITY Mo June 2 Mondays card at Riverside Park was made up of a series of claiming races While the program was of the offday variety the sport was in ¬ teresting and the favorites scored frequently The weather was ideal for racing and an I unusually large crowd was in tnc stands when the horses paraded to the post for the initial race raceNine Nine maiden fillies faced the barrier in the first and it fell to the lot of Crooning from the stable of G F Jenkins to gradu ¬ ate with Heelantoe finishing second and Sanall third The winner ridden by the veteran C Eames led all the way and at no stage of the race was threatened winning pulled up by six lengths Heelantoe which raced to second place followed the winner closely all the way but at the end was tiring from her early efforts and was only a neck in front of Sanall at the finish The latter was in close quarters in the early stages but finished with a burst of speed in the final eighth Giblets which finished fourth began rather greenly and was far out of contention for the first threeeighths but finished in such a manner that she will no doubt cut some figure in the twoyear old races to come comePorto Porto de Oro scored his second consecutive winning race of the meeting when he led home Dodie Leighton by a half length in the second race which was over the futurity course Ten of the poorer grade sprinters stabled at the track started with Dodie Leighton a one to two favorite at post time The winner was fortunate in slipping through on the inside at the head of the stretch when the favorite ran out and held on with deter ¬ mination after assuming the lead Dodie Leighton was the one to set the pace but lost considerable ground by racing wide all the way and despite this handicap would have won but for turning extremely wide into the stretch Rotarian which raced into intoI third place finished with good courage in the I last eighth and outgamed Zefine for that i portion of the purse
