COMPARES TURF CONDITIONS Lord Derby States American Dirt Tracks Have Distinct Advan ¬ tage Over English Courses SPECIAL CABLEGRAM LONDON England June 2 In an inter ¬ view here today Lord Derby who recently returned from the United States compared English and American turf sport and condi ¬ tions He said that the American dirt tracks offer a distinct advantage in that they permit racing every day without injury to the course He added however that he would not care to see dirt tracks supplant the English turf courses Lord Derby who saw Earl Sande win the Kentucky Derby with William Wood ¬ wards Gallant Fox praised the American jockey He described him as a brainy rider and ventured the opinion that if he came to England on a flying visit anybody who gave him a mount would not regret it Lord Derbys Fair Isle the filly by Phalaris Scapa Flow and a full sister to Fairway is the favorite for the Oaks at Epsom next Wednesday and her owner believes that she will win
