DIANAMEDE, fractious at the post but away fast, quickly drew clear and, taken to the inside on the turn, held on well and outlasted BIG BLUE in an extended drive. The latter, close up from the start, withstood pressure gamely, and reducing the winners margin in the drive, just failed to get up. MARCELET slow to get going, closed a gap fast after reaching the final quarter and was going strongest of all in the final stages. BROOMPATCH raced well. DOROTHY HICKS was weakly ridden and, .under strong handling, might have been more formidable. DECEPTIVE was always far back. PIECEMEAL began fast, dropped out of it after throe-sixteenths and failed to respond when hard urged. MUST HURRY showed early speed. . HARASS began slowly, raced wide, but improved his position and overtook WILDOLIVE. The latter saved ground, but tired. NOBLE WRACK closed a gap on the inside. McCULLOCH had no mishaps. KNEE GLADER caused interference shortly after the start, raced forwardly and tired. HELEN DEAN was racing well in the late stages.
