MIAMI BEACH HANDICAP FIELD Flying Heels, Vander Pool and Lady Broadcast Entered. Crack Field Named for Todays Feature at Hialeah Park Curtis Star Given Top Weight. MIAMI, Fla., Jan. 22. For Saturdays feature at Hialeah Park, the offering of the Miami Jockey Club is the Miami Beach Handicap, over the one mile distance to which ,500 is added. Eighteen have been named overnight and while there may be some scratches before post time, it is assured the field will be a cumbersome one. In the draw for positions, Flying Heels, winner of the Inaugural Handicap and top weight for this race, drew an outside position. His post number is sixteen, but as mile races are started out of a chute, fashioned after the mile at Saratoga Springs, this is nothing of a handicap. The two that are outside of the son of Flying Ebony, which promises to be the choice for the race, are Herbert M. Woolfs Lady Broadcast and the Brookmeade Stables Raccoon. In the big field, several have shown excellent recent form. There is Kincsen, the mare which established a mile record for the course; Judge Schilling, which showed a recent return to form; Street Singer, which had his final preparation in a winning race Thursday, and Lightning Bolt. Mrs. John Hay Whitneys winner of the Florida Derby of last year, ran a wonderfully good race on the occasion of his only appearance and he is in nicely, under 110 pounds. Dr. Syntax, after winning a race for Mr. Widener, will carry the silks of H. A. Coulson in this race. Vander Pool is to have another chance, though McDaniel has not named a rider for the son of Camp-fire. On through the list, there is much to recommend many of the probable starters and it is assured that with the promised favorable weather and track conditions, the race will prove a great holiday attraction. The probable field, together with their post positions, weights and probable riders, follows: PP. Horse. Wt. Jockey. 1 fRoyal Ruff in 101 J. Long 2 fRepentance ........ .110. . .H.
