JAMES RIVER improved his position on tho outside and finished gamely. AMERICAN QUEEN saved ground iit the stretch. BANKER SAM, in close quarters for three-eighths, finished resolutely. CHIEFS CAMILLE had no mishaps. ST. CARL, poorly ridden, finished resolutely on his own courage. SUNNY SUSAN quit badly. MY DANDY began fast, but was taken back midway around the turn and, going to the outside entering the stretch, finished gamely, but could not overhal the winner. JUDGE SCHILLING showed good speed, was a factor to the eighth post, then tired and held ULUNIU safe. The latter came through and was hurried along, but was unable to get up.
