POPULAR CHARACTER PASSES "Wing" Harvey, Widely Known in Racing, Newspaper Circles, Is Stricken Suddenly. NEW ORLEANS, La., March 7. Harold H. Harvey, 54, and familiarly known in sports and newspaper circles as "Wing," is dead. Death struck suddenly, about 5:30 p. m., yesterday, shortly after he had seated himself at dinner while a guest at the home of Albert Pillsbury. The last spark of life ebbed before medical aid could be summoned. A former sports editor, Harvey came to this city from Wilmington, Del., his home twenty-two years ago. For some time he was employed by a local newspaper and later published a daily sports periodical and promoted boxing matches. He was personally acquainted with many political celebrities. For many years he was employed at both the Jefferson Park and Fair Grounds tracks, and was identified with the Louisiana Jockey Club at the time of his death. He was at the Fair Grounds Saturday, apparently in the best of health. Harvey was often referred to as one who had not a single enemy, and his army of friends included leaders in all walks of life. His ever cheery disposition brought him into wide popularity and his chief interest in life was to promote good feeling. No situation was too dark for Harvey to fail to uncover a bright side, and for those fine characteristics he long will be missed. The remains were shipp.ed to Wilmington tonight.
